I travelled with an 8-member team to Purple Valley and the Milne Fiord in July 2022.

This was the first visit to the Milne Fiord since 2019, and the first since a large break-up event caused the Milne Ice Shelf to loose 40 % of its surface area. We went back to collect morphological data to help investigate the break-up and retrieved instruments with logged data that document the drainage of a rare and unique epishelf lake that was dammed between the Milne Glacier and Milne Ice Shelf.
